Arts Award Centre

Giffards is now an Arts Award Centre. Arts Award is a national qualification which recognises how young people develop as artists and arts leaders. The award is a personal learning programme which develops and assesses both art related and transferable skills such as creativity, communication, planning and teamwork. Young people aged 7-25 can achieve awards at English National Qualifications Entry level 3 in primary and then in secondary school work on achieving bronze, silver and gold accreditation.

Giffards will be giving Year 3 pupils a chance to earn the Introductory Level, called Discovery, and Year 6 pupils Level 3, known as Explore.

The Arts Award is incorporated into the Creative Curriculum, collating evidence from the children’s learning and being presented to Trinity College in London for moderation. This will be an exciting opportunity for our pupils to explore and discover the Arts and to gain a recognised qualification for their work.
